Paintball began for me in the Early Spring of 2009, a couple of friends of mine were going to a paintball field for a Fireman's benefit game. "Why not?", I said. I went on-line and bought a set quick used set up consisting of a mask with a scratched lens, and a Tippmann A-5. We went out on that cold spring morning and met with a lot of other firemen and paintballers and proceeded to play several pick up games through out the day. I was immediately hooked and on my way home picked up a flyer for a Scenario later that month at the same field. The scenario was based of the old movie "Red Dawn". That was what I considered my first real paintball game. It was an intense game with the end of the day brought me MVP for my teams side. Little did I know that most of the people I met that day, would become the friends and teammates that I have today.
A few days later I was offered a spot on the Rubber Duckies, the home team of Hornets Nest Paintball, and a little over a year later, became the Captain of the Duckies and one of the more recognizable faces of the 518 Brigade. I never really stood out until at one game I was elected to be a LAW gunner against a tank. I had handled LAW launchers before in passing, but never been assigned as one. By the end of the game, the opposing tank was barely able to move on any of our positions due to my gurellia hit and run tactics all over the tank for the rest of the day. Shortly thereafter I bought my own Metadyne Havoc, and became synomonosis with tank killing. Also as being part of the Rubber Duckies I primarily play pump paintball with my Tippman SL-68 II. It's almost 20 years old, and can't be chronoed above 250 fps on a good day with the wind at my back, but I love it and she's never let me down yet.
I love playing this sport and do all that I can to keep it alive and in a positive light in peoples eyes. I've thought nothing of sitting out of playing The West Point Fall combat classic to spend the day helping people fix their markers, and explaining the and general maitnence of peoples equipment so that it lasts longer. Along the way I've won countless MVT's with the Rubber Duckies, 5 personal MVP's, and made the oddest group of friends you could meet. I hope that my aggressive and tireless style of play, yields the best footage SPBTV has to offer. See you on the field!
